Israeli Movement
emerged with the aim of redefining the relationship between citizens and the government, increasing their influence on what happens in the country. We operate all over Israel and help local civil initiatives to organize, grow and set the ball rolling on matters that affect us all.
What do
we do?
Establishing neighborhood committees and task groups
We assist activists in getting organized and establishing neighborhood committees on various issues. The elected committee receives accompaniment and guidance which allow it to promote the interests of the neighborhood residents or the group.
Training and seminars for activists
A variety of training programs for activists that include leadership practices, community organization, working with government institutions and utilizing the media. Taking part in our training programs are neighborhood activists, local movements, council members and interns.
Accompaniment and networking of council members
Accompaniment and consultation to council members about the practices of community organization and managing democratic-participation based processes with the residents. Membership in an intercity network doubles the power and allows for a common action with the Knesset and the government in the promotion of lateral municipal issues.
Promoting public policies
The Government Relations department transforms our worldview into reality by promoting legislation changes and influencing decision makers within the government, the Knesset and local authorities with the aim to increase the democratic domain in the local government and strengthen the influence if its residents.
Research
Formulating unique models for action, analysis of test cases in Israel and globally, assistance in solidifying professional positions, conducting local surveys and sharing knowledge with the activists and the entire movement.
Spokesmanship and awareness
Managing campaigns, creating content, managing communication systems and consulting activists, making knowledge accessible to the public and creating channels to influence public opinion and decision makers.
